Police officer who was busted by Jeremy Drew |
(Scroll down for video) A boy did not face charges and jail time only because he was too cute, according to a video uploaded to the internet.
The boy was seen on video confronting a police officer after the police officer parked his motorized vehicle on the sidewalk, blocking pedestrian traffic.
The young boy’s encounter with the Nevada police officer has become an unexpected viral video hit, since more than 3 million people have seen the video on YouTube.
Jeremy Drew, 12, challenged an unnamed official of the Police Department of Las Vegas who had allegedly illegally parked his motorized bike on the sidewalk before buying a soda.
"Is there any reason for you to park on the sidewalk?" Drew asked the officer. "It's like an emergency or something?" He also asked.
After the agent refused to answer, the boy continued the interrogations.
"Can I see your badge number?"
Then the officer asked why, at which time Drew responded: "Uh, because I have the right to."
The officer replied: "Really? Are you a lawyer?"
"No, I just want to see your badge number," Drew answered. "Uh, Can I see your badge number?" The boy insisted.
The officer then rode away without providing his badge number, but not before asking the child to identify himself.
"I am a child," he replied. "I'm Jeremy Drew," he added.
“The boy is lucky that he is too cute. If this was an adult questioning the officer I could easily see this encounter escalating into a violent showdown ending up with an arrest and charges. We need more boys like Drew out there watching over police officers who believe they are above the law,” Norma Mitchell, 36, of Las Vegas, Nevada told YourJewishNews.com after watching the video.
The video, which was uploaded to YouTube, has been viewed more than 3.5 million times.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
